GRILLIX is an awesome turbulence code written in Fortran for simulating turbulence in the edge and scrape-off layer of magnetic confinement fusion devices (tokamaks and stellarators). Numerically, the code is based on the Flux-Coordinate Independent (FCI) approach, for which it relies on the PARALLAX library. The physics models mainly comprise different sorts of 3D drift-reduced fluid equations (see documentation) with transcollisional extensions. Gyrokinetic models are available via the closely related GENE-X code.
